Horizon Palais-Royal

SHOW

Duration 30 minutes – all audiences – outdoor in-situ form

As part of a unique partnership between the French Ministry of Culture, Olympiade Culturelle and Compagnie L’Oubliée, the show Horizon Palais-Royal poetically took over the roofs and passageways of the Palais-Royal in Paris on September 15, 16 and 17, to mark the European Heritage Days.

In addition to the performances, which were the high points of the event, the writing was entirely carried out on site, in rehearsals lasting several days and open to the gaze of passers-by.

After the Bordeaux Opera in 2019 and the Saint-Front cathedral in Périgueux in 2022, the Domaine national du Palais-Royal thus became, for a few weeks, a blank page, a stage. A theater of freedom.

A project for all audiences,

that recreates itself each time by taking possession of heritage spaces or atypical locations,

Horizon is an ode to freedom.

Freedom to move.

To run. To breathe.

To the horizon…

Horizon is an in-situ creation project, in which every scene, every movement, every displacement, is imagined and realized from the building, its history and its specific angles.

Circus equipment and wooden modules complement the architecture to enhance its possibilities.

The ensemble provides a horizontal and vertical playground for enriching the show’s acrobatic vocabulary.

By occupying the walls and roofs, the audience can discover the estate from a different angle, looking up to the sky…

Starting with an exceptionally talented group of contemporary circus artists and urban free-runners, this acrobatic ballet is written between walls, roofs and sky.
