Commissioned by the Centre National des Arts du Cirque,
Raphaëlle Boitel directs the graduation show of the 32nd class.
She takes advantage of the circular space of circuses and big tops to introduce 14 young circus performers,
and as many disciplines, into the physical and visual aesthetics of the Cie.
Talking about Man’s shortcomings, and Men’s shortcomings…
The absurdity of Men, trying to find their raison d’être in a world whose reason is beyond them.
An amused, humanistic and offbeat look at man, who only knows what he understands.
Deployed in the three dimensions of space and a chiaroscuro universe,
the artists of the 32nd graduating class take to the stage.
Faced with emptiness and the unknown, discovering their own abilities and the fragility of balance,
they sketch out the singularities of man…
And the strength they have to make their limits fly.
